Removing

Carry out following work:
– Pull release lever -1- to release bonnet.
– Insert a small screwdriver in gap between release lever -1- and

retaining clip -2-.

– Lever retaining clip -2- out of operating lever -1- -arrow a- and

pull operating lever off mounting bracket -3- -arrow b-.

For further work on mounting bracket -3-, A-pillar lower trim -4-

Pillar and side panel trim .

1. Bonnet

Carry out following work:
• Lower A-pillar trim -4- has been fitted.
– Push retaining clip -2- into release lever -1-.
– Press retaining lever -1- onto mounting bracket -3-.
• Before closing bonnet, check function of release lever and re‐

lease cable.

Vehicle must be standing on its wheels to enable bonnet to be adjusted.

♦

The adjustment buffers -2- on the left and right are not a means of adjustment. They have the function of

stabilising and damping the bonnet.

♦

The bonnet is adjusted correctly if the gaps/shut lines are even all around, the door is not too deep or does

not protrude and all contours align when the is door closed.

♦

The bonnet must engage into the bonnet lock without excessive force.

♦

Nuts -4- are not removed, only loosened.

Carry out following work:
– Remove striker pin -1-

– Bonnet can be centred between wings by loosening (not re‐

moving) hexagon nuts -4- on left and right bonnet hinges -5-.

– Ensure that gaps are uniform ⇒ Body Repairs; Rep. gr. 00 ;

Technical data; Body panel gaps/shut lines; Body - front .

– Turn adjusting buffer -2- to adjust -arrow-.
– After bonnet has been adjusted, the striker pin -1- can be re-

installed and adjusted

Adjusting lid lock

Carry out following work:
– Remove radiator grille

– Slacken bolts -2- to adjust bonnet lock -1- to bonnet laterally

00 ; Body panel gaps/shut lines; Body - front

Specified torque for bolts -2-: 12 Nm.
