a. Remove the PANEL fuse from the main body ECU.
b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER - BATTERY)
a. Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.

b. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - ACCESSORY METER

a. Disconnect the J28 combination meter connector.

b. Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.
c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily replace the accessory meter with a new or normally functioning one (see ON-
VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
6. CHECK ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
a. Check the accessory meter operation.
OK: Operation of the accessory meter returns to normal.
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (see REMOVAL )
OK: END (ACCESSORY METER IS DEFECTIVE)
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER - BODY GROUND)
a. Disconnect the K20 accessory meter connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

8. REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily replace the accessory meter with a new or normally functioning one (see ON-
VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
9. CHECK ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
a. Check that the accessory meter operation is normal.
OK: Operation of the accessory meter returns to normal.
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (see REMOVAL )
OK: END (ACCESSORY METER IS DEFECTIVE)
METER ILLUMINATION DOES NOT DIM AT NIGHT
DESCRIPTION
If the dimmer switch is turned to TAIL, HEAD or AUTO, the main body ECU sends a TAIL relay signal, panel
light illumination signal, panel relay signal, and TAIL cancel OFF signal* to the combination meter via CAN
communication. Then the meter and accessory meter become dim.
HINT:
*: w/ TAIL cancel switch
TAIL cancel switch: When the headlights are illuminated and the TAIL cancel switch is turned on, the
meter and accessory meter do not dim.
