No. 246 Electric fuel pump can’t work

Malfunction Cause

Solution

Over-low voltage of battery

Malfunction of fuse for fuel pump

Check the fuse of fuel pump for conducting and replace fuse if it’s
broken;

Malfunction of fuel pump relay

Check relay of electric fuel pump for normal working; if it can’t work
normally, then the relay of fuel pump should be replaced;

Internal Malfunction of fuel pump

Check if the resistance of pump is 0.20 – 3.0 Ohm under 20 degree;
and check internal coil of electric fuel pump for break or short-circuit; if
it's different, the electric fuel pump assembly should be replaced;

Malfunction of harness

Check if harness of electric fuel pump is able to conduct, and if
connectors and relay sockets are well contacted; if not, the fuel pump
loop should be checked and repaired;

Malfunction of main relay

Check main relay for normal working; if it’s abnormal, the main relay
should be replaced;

Electric fuel pump

Malfunction of engine ECU

Check engine ECU for normal working; if it’s abnormal, the engine ECU
should be replaced;

Check fuel pipeline for leakage; if so, the fuel pipeline should be replaced;

Malfunction of strainer for fuel

Check strainer for fuel pump for blocking; if so, the strainer should be
cleaned or replaced;

Internal malfunction of fuel

Check electric fuel pump for internal pressure discharging; if so, the
electric fuel pump assembly should be replaced;

Malfunction of fuel regulator

Check fuel pressure regulator for normal working; if it’s abnormal, the fuel
pressure regulator should be replaced;

Malfunction of fuel filter

Check fuel filter for blocking; if so, the fuel filter assembly should be
replaced;

No. 248 Positive pressure of fuel tank too high

Malfunction Cause

Solution

Malfunction of
fuel tank cover

Check fuel tank cover and gasket for distortion or damage; if resulting in blocking or
damage of check valve on the cover, the fuel tank cover should be replaced;

Malfunction of
venting tube for
fuel tank

Check if the venting tube for fuel tank is bent, distorted or vented smoothly; if in case
of blocking or venting hardly and resulting in over-pressure of fuel tank, then it
should be replaced;

Malfunction of
venting check
valve for fuel tank

Check if the venting check valve for fuel tank is blocked or unavailable resulting in
over-pressure of fuel tank, thus the check valve should be replaced.

1. Inspect visually if the canister is cracked or broken; if so, the canister assembly
should be replaced;

2. Blocking the outlet of canister, blow air (4.71 kPa) into adsorbing entry and check
the air discharged from desorbing outlet; if it doesn’t conform to regulation, the
canister should be replaced;

3. Blow the air to adsorbing entry, and check the air should discharge through other
outlet freely; if not, the canister assembly should be replaced;

Check canister control valve for resistance; the rating resistance under 20 degree
should be 22- 30 Ohm; if not, the canister control valve should be replaced;

in malfunction of control valve, the engine ECU should be replaced;

Are indicators on keys bright or dark while emitter is working? If they are dark, then the
battery is low or in poor contact and should be checked, repaired or replaced;

Malfunction of

Check if the voltage of battery is enough, if it’s over-low, the battery should be charged
or replaced;

Malfunction of fuse
for centralized
controller

Check fuse of centralized controller for conducting; if it’s broken, the fuse of centralized
controller should be replaced;

Mismatch of remote
controller type

Check remote controller for matching to centralized controller; if not, the remote
controller should be coded or replaced for coding process;

Internal Malfunction
of remote controller

Check internal electronics of remote controller for short-circuit or break; if it’s broken, the
remote controller should be replaced;

Malfunction of
harness

Check centralize controller loop for conducting to every connector; if it’s conducted, the
harness of centralize controller should be checked and repaired;
