12.6.2 Description and Operation
12.6.2.1 Frame and Underbody

The subframe is isolated from the vehicle body by the rubber
bushings. It provides support to the powertrain, the front
suspension lower control arms and the power steering gear
assembly. Any misalignment will lead the front wheels
misalignment. The subframe is bolted to the vehicle body by
the rubber bushings. The vehicle underbody must be properly
positioned in order to ensure proper suspension and wheels
alignment. The individual underbody components contribute
directly to the overall strength of unibody. Use proper metal
bonding techniques during service repair operations to the
unibody. The components must be corrosion protected
whenever body repair operations damage or destroy the
original sealing surfaces. Refer to the "Anti-Corrosion
Treatment and Repair" in Collision Repair Description and
Operation.
