BRACKET REPAIR OF HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

If damage is present to locations other than the repairable
bracket, replace the assembly.

When only brackets A, B, or C shown in the figure are damaged,
a low-cost repair can be performed by mounting a repair bracket.
If the bracket D is damaged, cut off the damaged bracket D.
(Mounting of repair bracket is not needed.)

OPERATIONS BEFORE REPAIRING BRACKET

Remove the headlight assembly. Then, remove the bulb,
headlight socket cover vehicles with discharge headlight, and
headlight control unit vehicles with discharge headlight (Refer
to P.54Ac-171).

REPAIR PROCEDURE OF BRACKET A

Damage bracket A

1.

Cut off the damaged bracket A.

2.

Remove the remaining bracket cut surface using the
sandpaper.

Repair bracket A

3.

Affix the repair bracket to the headlight assembly using the
tapping screw.

REPAIR PROCEDURE OF BRACKET B

Installation boss

1.

Cut the damaged bracket B so that the cut surface becomes
8 mm (0.31 inch) or less from the mounting boss bearing
surface for repair bracket.

2.

Smoothen the bracket cut surface using sandpaper.

3.

Affix the repair bracket to the headlight assembly using the
tapping screw.

Damage bracket C

1.

Cut the damaged bracket C so that the cut surface becomes
3 mm (0.12 inch) or less from the headlight assembly body
surface.

2.

Smoothen the bracket cut surface using sandpaper.

3.

Affix the repair bracket to the headlight assembly using the
tapping screw.

OPERATIONS AFTER REPAIRING BRACKET

1.

Mount the bulb, headlight socket cover vehicles with
discharge headlight and headlight control unit vehicles with
discharge headlight, and then mount the headlight assembly
to the vehicle (Refer to P.54Ac-171).

2.

Check that the headlight assembly does not vibrate while
driving.

3.

Perform the headlight aiming adjustment (refer to P.
54Ac-165) and light intensity measurement (refer to P.
54Ac-167).
