The removal and installation sequence is only for the right window

regulator motor. The removal and installation of the left window

regulator motor is similar.

3.4.1

Removing

gr. 70 ; Door trim .

– Secure door window against sliding down with adhesive tape.

– Disconnect connector -3-.
– Remove the three screws -2-.
– Remove window regulator motor together with control unit

-1- from mounting brackets.

3.4.2

Installing

WARNING

If a new window regulator motor is installed (door control unit),

the additional functions and the excess force limitation feature

have to be coded!

the splines between window regulator motor and cable drum

engage more easily.

– Screw in the three screws -2-.
Specified torque for bolts -2-: 4 Nm.
– Connect connector -3-.
– A new window regulator motor must be coded using the vehi‐

cle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- .

– The work procedure and notes on the automatic window rais‐

ing and lowering system as well as on the excess-force limi‐

tation feature can be found in ⇒ Maintenance ; Booklet .

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing window regula‐

tor

Note

Removal and installation are described only for the right window

regulator. The removal and installation of the left window regulator

is similar.

Carry out following work:
– Remove cover

– Remove door window

⇒ page 221

– Removing window regulator motor

⇒ page 225

– Release locking hook of cable drum -arrows d- and push cable

drum -3- into door.

– Undo nuts -2- and push threaded bolts of window regulator

into door.

– Lever out window regulator -1- together with cable drum

through opening in door -arrows b- and -c-.
