Large force is required to stamp the pedal

Possible cause

[Description] Inspect the stroke of the booster and the brake pedal with conventional
method. Failure of the normally open valve can be inspected with the function test of the
failure diagnosis hydraulic pressure unit.

There is no malfunction code output (communication with the failure
diagnosis instrument is unavailable)

Possible cause

[Description]

ABS ECU power return or the diagnostic line return is open

when the communication with the failure diagnosis instrument is unavailable.

The fuse is burnt

The diagnostic line is broken or the joint is

loose

z

ABS ECU is damaged

z

There is something wrong with the failure

diagnosis instrument

Diagnostic and inspect the
normally open valve with the
failure diagnosis hydraulic control
unit

Inspect the stroke of the booster
and the pedal according to the
conventional method of vehicles
without ABS

Replace HCU (hydraulic control unit)

wire, diagnostic wire and its
connection of the diagnostic

harness (MK20I is terminal 13,
MK20I/E is terminal 7) and the
diagnostic connector (terminal 7 in the
failure diagnosis instrument) are
conductive

capable of communicating with MK20
ABS ECU on other vehicles

There is something wrong with the failure diagnosis
instrument
Carry out the inspection after the repair
